Training and Development

Team Teach

We require all staff to complete Team Teach training as part of our commitment to understanding and responding to behaviour with empathy and insight. At Hope Spring, we recognise that behaviour often communicates unmet needs or emotional distress. Team Teach emphasises de-escalation techniques—making up 95% of the training—while physical intervention is strictly reserved for last-resort scenarios. This approach has been rigorously medically reviewed by independent professionals, in line with standards set by the Institute of Conflict Management, ensuring both safety and integrity in our practice.

Child Protection and Safeguarding Training

At Hope Spring Care Services, safeguarding is a foundational pillar in our mission to protect young people from harm, exploitation, and abuse. Through robust training, our staff are equipped to recognise vulnerabilities early and take proactive steps to reduce the risk of criminal targeting.

In cases involving child exploitation, our safeguarding protocols enable timely identification and support for affected young people—ensuring they receive the care they need while contributing to the prosecution of offenders and the disruption of harmful networks.

Emergency First Aid

At Hope Spring Care Services, we require all staff to complete emergency first aid training to ensure they are prepared to respond swiftly and confidently in urgent situations. While many incidents may simply call for comfort and reassurance, our team is equipped to recognise when a child’s condition requires immediate medical attention or emergency intervention. This readiness to act decisively and compassionately helps secure the best possible outcomes for the young people in our care.

Level 3 Diploma for The Children and Young People’s Workforce

We invest in the professional development of our team through the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce. This comprehensive qualification provides deep insight into child development, psychology, communication strategies, and safeguarding protocols.

By understanding the unique needs and challenges children face at different stages of growth, our staff are empowered to deliver tailored, responsive care that promotes healthy

development, addresses concerns early, and supports the overall well-being of every child we support.
